With the Dreambox you can do much more than just watch Free to Air TV! The Dreambox 500, 600, 600s, 500s, 800,800s, and Dreambox Sky are Linux receivers that operate just like a computer. You can browse the internet, check your emails, watch iPlayer, listen to your music etc. Dreambox HD is the first Linux receiver to have High definition and PVR capability.

Dreambox is a Linux box (the first) which means it has an operating system like your computer so you can browse the internet, check your emails, watch the iPlayer, listen to your music or almost anything you computer can do all from the comfort of your living room (it even has games).

So to watch TV you need to know what type of Dreambox to get. To start off do you have a satellite dish set up or do you have cable to you house? If you have a Satellite dish you'll want a Dreambox Satellite (has an -S after the name)  and if you have Cable you'll want Dreambox Cable (has an -C after the name).

Now what functions do you want on your Dreambox? If you want HD (High Definition) then you'll want the Dreambox 800-S (DM800S) or Dreambox 800-C (DM800C)

If you want PVR (Personal Video Recorder to pause/record/rewind live TV) you'll need either a -

• Dreambox 800-S (DM800S)
• Dreambox 800-C (DM800C)
• Dreambox 600-S (DM600S)
• Dreambox 600-C (DM600C)

But don't forget to buy you hard drive to store everything.
The bigger hard drive you get the more you can record without having to delete anything.

If you just want to watch TV you can get any Dreambox (as long as you know if you need Satellite or Cable), but by far the best value is the Dreambox 500 (DM500) so either Dreambox 500-S (DM500S) or Dreambox 500-S (DM500C).
